Team discussion in a warm meeting room

Client stories

Reflections from people who prepared for sales, retail, and customer-support roles with our advisory sessions.

I had applied to six retail supervisor roles with the same Anschreiben. After the document review I rewrote two openings carefully and finally got past the first screen. The feedback on my till and stock-count examples was more useful than another generic template.

The interview practice felt awkward at first — answering in German about my sales targets — but that was the point. The real panel asked almost the same follow-ups about pipeline and lost deals.

Coming from hotel reception into customer support, I kept underselling the conflict-handling I already did every shift. The path advisory session forced me to list those incidents properly. I still needed two months of applications, and one rejection stung, but the plan kept me from scattering effort across unrelated vacancies.

Elena P.Career Path Advisory · Career changer, Schwerin

Useful, though I wished we had spent even longer on salary ranges for regional retail. The written plan after the session was clear enough that I could share it with my partner and decide on commuting limits together.

Extended story: warehouse to field sales

Leila had five years in a logistics warehouse near Lübeck and wanted field sales with a regional distributor. In the Role Transition Coaching package we mapped her forklift and shift-lead experience against employer language about reliability and customer contact — she already handled driver check-ins and damaged-goods disputes.

Between sessions she drafted answers to “tell us about a time you persuaded someone” using a real supplier delay. By the third meeting she had one tailored Anschreiben and a shortlist of three distributors within a reasonable drive. She later accepted a junior Außendienst role; the coaching did not arrange the interview, but it made her applications specific enough to earn one.

Extended story: returning after parental leave

Karin had managed a small fashion boutique before parental leave and wanted to return to retail leadership without pretending the gap did not exist. Document review focused on framing the leave briefly and leading with measurable shop results — average basket, seasonal campaigns, trainee supervision.

She practised interview answers about availability and weekend shifts so she could state boundaries without apologising. After two interviews she chose a part-time deputy manager post; she noted that our sessions helped most with confidence around scheduling questions, not with inventing experience she did not have.
